About the fishing here
Roxen is a shallow, nutrient-rich lake just north of Linköping, part of the Motala ström system and the Göta Canal. The coloured, turbid water warms quickly and the lake counts as a genuinely good zander water, with pike, perch, bream and asp in the same bays. Shallow water builds a chop fast, so keep an eye on the wind.
Anglers here regularly land Zander, Common Bream, Northern Pike, European Perch and Asp.
Zander is generally most active around Jun-Aug. The best windows are usually dawn, dusk and night.
A fishing permit (fiskekort) is required here. Napp ranks the species above from the live weather, water temperature, season and time of day, so the order changes through the day.
