About the fishing here
Vombsjön lies some twenty kilometres east of Lund and has supplied Malmö with drinking water since 1948. The nutrient-rich lowland lake is best known for zander and pike, though survey fishing has also turned up trout and rainbow trout. It drains through the Kävlingeån, and the open setting means wind builds a chop quickly.
Anglers here regularly land Zander, Common Bream, Northern Pike, Brown Trout and European Perch.
Zander fishing is usually best around Jun-Aug. The best windows are usually dawn, dusk and night.
A fishing permit (fiskekort) is required here. Napp ranks the species above from the live weather, water temperature, season and time of day, so the order changes through the day.
