About the fishing here

Jackson Lake sits at the foot of the Teton Range in Grand Teton National Park, a natural lake enlarged by a dam that the Snake River flows through early in its course. It's known for lake trout, some of them large, that anglers troll for in the deep, cold water, along with native cutthroat trout closer to the surface. The scenery alone, with the jagged Tetons rising straight from the shoreline, makes it one of the most photographed lakes in the country. Afternoon winds can build quickly out of the canyons, so mornings tend to fish calmer.

Popular catches here include Walleye, Striped Bass, Northern Pike, Rainbow Trout, Lake Trout and Muskellunge.

Walleye fishing is usually best around Apr-May, Oct-Nov. The best windows are usually dawn and dusk.

A state fishing license is required to fish here. Napp ranks the species above from the live weather, water temperature, season and time of day, so the order changes through the day.
