About the fishing here
Erken in Roslagen is Uppland's third largest lake, studied so thoroughly that Uppsala University runs a limnological laboratory at Norra Malma on its southern shore. For the angler it is the zander that stands out, with pike and perch in the same water and burbot down deep. The lake once supplied Norrtälje with drinking water, and it drains through the Broströmmen toward the sea.
Anglers here regularly land Zander, Common Bream, Northern Pike, European Perch, Roach and Burbot.
Zander is generally most active around Jun-Aug. The best windows are usually dawn, dusk and night.
A fishing permit (fiskekort) is required here. Napp ranks the species above from the live weather, water temperature, season and time of day, so the order changes through the day.
