About the fishing here
Åsnen is a shallow, island-strewn lake in Kronoberg, a maze of thousands of islets and bays that has been a national park in part since 2018. The brown, nutrient-rich water and countless reedy bays make it a classic pike and perch water, with zander and bream in the deeper parts. Shoals lie thick among the islands, so take a boat through with care.
Popular catches here include Zander, Common Bream, Northern Pike, European Perch and Roach.
For Zander, the fishing tends to peak around Jun-Aug. The best windows are usually dawn, dusk and night.
A fishing permit (fiskekort) is required here. Napp ranks the species above from the live weather, water temperature, season and time of day, so the order changes through the day.
