Guntersville Lake is a wide stretch of the Tennessee River in northern Alabama, thick with milfoil and hydrilla beds that made it one of the most storied largemouth bass lakes in the South. It has hosted the Bassmaster Classic more than once, and the same grass flats hold crappie and bream through the warmer months. The lake runs long and open, so wind can build a chop fast on the main river channel. A current Alabama fishing license is required.
