About Largemouth Bass

America's most popular gamefish. An ambush hunter holding in weed, timber and cover in warm water. Work the edges of cover rather than the middle of it, the fish sits where shade meets open water and takes what swims past. A soft plastic crawled along the bottom catches when nothing else does, and a topwater lure over matted weed is the classic warm evening. Summer pushes the biggest ones deep in the middle of the day, so fish first light and the last hour before dark.

Typical size: Usually 1-2.5 kg, big fish over 4 kg. Record (approx.): ≈ 10 kg.
