About the fishing here

Lake Murray is a long reservoir on the Saluda River near Columbia, built in the 1930s and known today as one of the South's best striped bass lakes. Largemouth bass and catfish round out the fishery, especially around the many rocky points and coves. The lake gets heavy pleasure-boat traffic near Columbia, so early morning and the upper end fish quieter. A South Carolina fishing license is required.
