About the fishing here

Presa Internacional Falcón, known to US anglers simply as Falcon Lake, is another Rio Grande border reservoir shared with Mexico, famous for producing some of the biggest largemouth bass tournament weights in Texas. Standing timber and old roadbeds that flooded when the dam went in give bass plenty of cover, and catfish add to the mix in deeper water. Water levels swing a lot with drought, which changes where the fish sit from year to year. A Texas fishing license is required on the US side, and border rules apply if you cross to fish the Mexican side.

Anglers here regularly land Largemouth Bass and Common Carp.

For Largemouth Bass, the fishing tends to peak around Apr-Jun, Sep. The best windows are usually dawn and dusk.

A state fishing license is required to fish here. Napp ranks the species above from the live weather, water temperature, season and time of day, so the order changes through the day.
