About the fishing here

Lake Superior is the largest and deepest of the Great Lakes, and the cold, clear water keeps most fish growing slowly but living long. Lake trout are the signature catch, worked deep off structure or trolled along drop-offs, with brown trout and other cold-water species picked up closer to shore and river mouths. The lake can build big water in a hurry, so this is not a place to fish small craft in marginal weather.

Anglers here regularly land Lake Trout and Brown Trout.

For Lake Trout, the fishing tends to peak around May, Oct-Nov. The best windows are usually dawn, day and dusk.

A state fishing license is required to fish here. Napp ranks the species above from the live weather, water temperature, season and time of day, so the order changes through the day.
