About Yamame Trout
The landlocked form of the Japanese cherry salmon, a beautiful parr-marked stream trout of cool, clear mountain rivers and headwaters. It is a classic tenkara and light fly target, taking dry flies, nymphs and tiny spinners in pocket water and plunge pools. Shy and quick in clear water, it rewards a stealthy approach, fine tippet and an accurate first cast.
