A prized surf and estuary seabream of the Namibian and southern African west coast, rooting along sandy beaches and gullies for worms, mussels and crabs. Bottom fishing from the beach with fresh bait on a sturdy surf rig is the classic method, often best on a pushing tide. It is a strong, dogged fighter in the wash, so keep it out of the rocks with firm pressure.
