Striped Marlin fishing

Kajikia audax

About Striped Marlin

A spectacular billfish prized for its speed and acrobatic jumps, often found chasing baitballs near the surface in warm offshore water. Trolled lures, skipping baits and pitched live baits all produce, especially around current edges and temperature breaks. It tail-walks and greyhounds when hooked, so a smooth drag and patient angling win the day.

Typical size: Typically 40 to 90 kg; trophy fish over 150 kg. Record (approx.): approx. 200 kg (varies by region).
