Spot-tail Bass fishing

Lutjanus fuscescens

About Spot-tail Bass

A hard-pulling tropical snapper found over reefs and rocky coastal ground in Indonesian waters, taking jigs, live baits and sinking plugs near structure. It feeds most actively at dawn, dusk and on moving tides, hugging the bottom around drop-offs and pinnacles. Expect a stubborn, deep fight that tries to reach the rocks, so do not give line easily.

Typical size: Typically 2 to 6 kg; trophy fish around 10 kg. Record (approx.): approx. 10 kg (varies by region).
