Sailfish fishing
About Sailfish
The sailfish is the fastest fish in the ocean and a billfish prized worldwide for its towering dorsal sail and spectacular aerial fight. It hunts baitfish in open blue water and along current edges, usually targeted by trolling rigged baits, lures or teasers with circle hooks. It is almost always tagged and released, so handle it carefully boatside and revive it before letting it go.
Typical size: Commonly 20 to 45 kg; trophy fish over 60 kg. Record (approx.): approx. 100 kg (varies by ocean).
