Queenfish fishing

Scomberoides commersonnianus

About Queenfish

The queenfish is a fast, flat-bodied pelagic predator of warm Indo-Pacific coasts that hunts in roving schools near reefs, jetties and surf zones. It savages metal slugs, poppers and stickbaits worked at speed, leaping and skating across the surface when hooked. Light to medium spin tackle gives it the running room to put on a spectacular fight.

Typical size: Commonly 1 to 5 kg; trophy fish over 8 kg. Record (approx.): approx. 11 kg (varies by region).
