The orange-spotted grouper is a stocky, hard-pulling reef and estuary predator common in the Arabian Gulf. It holds tight to wrecks, rock piles and channel edges, and crashes live bait or slow-pitch jigs dropped to the bottom. Hook one and you must turn it fast before it reefs you in the structure.
