The Atlantic halibut is the largest flatfish in the world, a powerful cold-water predator that lies over sandy and gravelly seabeds along the Norwegian coast and the North Atlantic. Anglers target it from boats with large soft-plastic shads, herring baits and big pirks worked near the bottom over banks and edges. A hooked halibut fights with raw, sustained power and can dive repeatedly, making it one of the most sought-after big-game flatfish in Nordic seas.
