About this water

Eccup Reservoir is a reservoir in Alwoodley, a suburb of Leeds, West Yorkshire, England, near the village of Eccup. It was first constructed in 1843, and expanded to its present size in 1897. The open water area is 91 hectares, making it the largest area of water in West Yorkshire. It receives water from several smaller reservoirs and from the River Ouse. The reservoir is owned by Yorkshire Water.
